My first time at the magical j-tree 🌵Went with two good friends during a long weekend, and it was surprisingly not as crowded - or maybe we just picked the right boulders to get away from the crowds! We researched and found a couple areas to try to find and climb. This was my first "big outdoor climbing trip" - and excited was an understatement 😆
We ended up getting a bit lost and exploring more of j-tree (which isn't a bad thing!). A nice park ranger eventually set us to the right direction! We pretty much spent the whole morning hiking with our gear. It was a great opportunity for some 35mm snaps though, so no regrets on that front!
We ended up climbing at Mel's Diner and The Real Hall of Horrors. It took us a while to find the traverse at the Hall of Horrors. We ended up finding it after hearing some other folks' noise echo. Had to climb up some rocks and climb down with our gear to get to the traverse! Fun adventure to say the least.
We ended up wrapping up at the perfect time to catch the sunset! Can't beat a desert sunset - definitely the cherry on top of a perfect day of climbing, snacks, friendship, and laughs! Til next time, j-tree!
All photos in this blog post were snapped with a Minolta Hi-Matic G on 35mm film. My new favorite point and shoot - love a nice Minolta camera 😊
